"Yes? What is it?"

"I have a message for you." The strange half-cat boy handed Scott a letter.

Scott opened it and read.

Scott,
If you are receiving this it means I have failed both in my experiments and as your father. In a final attempt to make things right between us I have written you this letter.

The first thing you should know is that I wasn't the one responsible for your mother's death. I know that may sound like a lie, but it is indeed the truth. Although the men who shot her may have been workers at the lab, they were not under any orders from me. The reason I took you in, treated you like my son, was to protect you from her. The psychopathic demon who is to blame for all of this is a rather mysterious girl with the ability to manipulate one's own mind.

Scott thought back. He remembered a certain child who possessed such abilities and claimed to be none other than the one who had killed his mother. But how? She's far too young to even have been alive!

Scott looked back down at the text.

I'm sure that by now you must be eager for some sort of revenge, but I warn you, she is no pushover. She seeks world domination and has the means to obtain it. It's only a matter of time before things start to get out of control. I'm counting on you to fix this last mistake so that I may finally rest in peace.

Scott looked up at the strange boy who had given him the letter. "I don't believe you ever introduced yourself."

"My apologies. I am Thomas, a servant of your father."

Scott looked back at the letter. He remembered how badly they had lost last time they had fought this same little girl Gustav was asking him to kill. One thing was certain. If he hoped to stand a chance he would have to pay a visit to some old friends.

Daniel was still back at the cave, getting used to his arm being recently reattached and being his usual stupid self.
