Literally at the lab

"She's one of you." The wolves pinned him.

"One of me?" Daniel asked. He had thought she would be a wolf.

"Dark you idiot!" One called from the back.

"Oh. She should be back at her cave."

"Why is it sealed up."

"She's just angry right now. She'll probably calm down soon."

"Why is she angry."

"Who knows." Daniel said. "These days it seems like she's always angry."

The wolves were not satisfied.

Daniel wasn't trying to satisfy them, he was just telling them what he knew.

The wolves growled. "You're a special kind of stupid, aren't you."

"Why are you picking on me anyways?" Daniel asked. "You could just ask her older brother."

"Because she demands that we can't eat you."

"This is what I don't like about wolves. They're always trying to eat you."

"We need to live." One forced out. It stomped it's paw on Daniel's windpipe. "Apologize to the Queen."

Daniel agreed. He realized at that point that Dark wouldn't ever let him leave.

"We aren't acting on the Queen's wishes. We want her to be happy. Apologize." The wolf began to choke him.

Daniel found it difficult to apologize to Dark when she was back at the cave and he couldn't breathe.

"And stop acting like a stupid idiot." The wolf released him.

Daniel looked at the wolves. He still didn't like them, but he figured he would do them this one favor and apologize to Dark. He made his way back to the cave.

The entrance was open in a narrow crevice.

Daniel looked at the crevice. It hardly seemed safe, still he had to apologize to Dark or the wolves would eat him.

It was a mess inside. Paint was everywhere and Dark's leaves were scattered and trampled. Dark had torn apart the beds.

Daniel looked around for Dark, though at this point he was scared to find her.

Dark was continuing her slow descent into insanity in the darkest corner.
