| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Chapter 4: Answers~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"What happened?" Bartholomeu asked, examining the bloody body.
"I don't know, I just found him like this." Daniel said as he desperately tried to remain calm. What if we're next?
"We should probably get out of here." Ruby said.
"Why? We haven't done anything wrong, and you're actually from here. Whoever did this certainly wouldn't be after us."
"No. I know who did this. They don't care who you are or what your intentions are. They'd probably kill me just for being around you two."
----------------------------------
For the time being, the group returned to Bartholomeu's shack. They quickly realized that it was cramped with three people. Even if all of them could have lived there comfortably, however, they were likely still being pursued by whoever it was that had killed that man back at Ruby's village. Packing up anything essential, they headed for the nearest human town. Daniel and Ruby had never been there before, but Bartholomeu seemed to know the way well.
When they arrived in the town it was obvious that everyone saw something wrong with them. People glared at them and pulled their children away. No one dared get close to them. What's wrong with everybody? Daniel wondered.
It's because I'm different. Ruby thought.
Bartholomeu simply paid it no mind. He handed Daniel some money and pointed him in the way of a nearby inn while he went to take care of something. Daniel noticed while he was buying the room that the inn keeper was much nicer than any of the other people they'd encountered so far. When Bartholomeu returned he had a bruise on his face, but he also had food.
He told them that he had tripped earlier and they believed him, after all, why would he lie to them?
"You sure seem to know this town well." Daniel remarked.
"Yeah, well, I grew up here." Bartholomeu replied. "Of course, I left when I was little to learn more about the world."
"So, do you have any family that still lives here?" Ruby asked out of curiosity.
"..."
They sat there in silence for a while before Daniel finally said something.
"You said before that you knew who killed that guy. What can you tell us about them?" he asked Ruby.
"Well, his name is Storm. He's really big and scary. Plus, he doesn't really like people very much. He used to have a few friends in the village, but now that it's gone..."
"And do you think he'll follow us?"
"Of course. I mean, he'd have no way of knowing that you guys aren't related to the people who murdered everyone." Not that he really cares. I'm sure he just wants to kill more humans.
"Can you tell him that we're innocent?"
"I doubt it. He rarely listens to me..."
Daniel had some other questions, but a loud scream distracted him. Could he have already caught up? Daniel wondered.
Bartholomeu rushed over to the window and looked outside. The streets were abandoned and there was blood everywhere. Despite all of this, he couldn't see a single corpse. But why would he attack innocent people? Unless...
Daniel looked around the room. There had to be something that they could defend themselves with. There was a sudden banging at the door. Daniel slid over to it and locked it as quietly as possible. The next thing the group heard was the sound of something, most likely an animal, clawing at the door. It sounded painful, as if it was wearing down its claws on the door until it was scratching with bloody nubs. And then it went quiet.
A large fist burst through the wood of the door and reached for the handle on the other side. It quickly gave up, probably because of the large amount of wood shards and splinters pushing themselves into the flesh of the arm the hand was connected to. The banging resumed, but louder this time, as if whatever was hitting the door had increased in size. The door began to creak. It was only a matter of time... | |

| Yeah, but you still want to kill the author if it's a really big one, I.E. Sherlock | |

| Longest one, about a year. And Sherlock is also coming out next year so. yeah. Oh and just so you know, most fangirls (it's actually a gender neutral term) hang in a delicate balance of "I love this show so much" and "I am going to f-ing explode in a mushball of feelings and go on a murder spree insanity". I haven't reached that level of fandom yet. But Doctor Who is a very easy way to get there. | |

| Yep. And this is the reason you don't insult major fandoms on the internet. | |

| Yeah, but, still. Any fandom that wasn't made to be bashed (ie twilight, Friday, ect.) shouldn't be. | |

| Very true. And don't pick arguments with achey fandoms (fandoms that are waiting, just had something bad happen, ect.) You will lose, no matter what you say. Giving you some fair warnings. | |
