Escaping

He felt sorry for her. Having gone through countless experiments himself, he could only imagine the emotional damage that had been inflicted

She frowned.

He decided to go out and look for food in the forest

When he returned, Omega was awake.

"Good morning" he said, setting down the food he had collected

"Morning." She said.

He wasn't much of a hunter, so there was little meat in the food he had collected. "you hungry?" he asked her

Omega hesitated.

"what's wrong?" he asked her

She shook her head.

"are you alright?" he asked. She was usually more cheerful than this

"Yes..." She sounded distant.

"I can tell you're not being completely honest" he said "but if you don't want to talk about it..."

"It-it's nothing."

"alright" he replied "But you should probably eat something". He motioned to the food that he had just brought in

"Is that...meat?" Omega asked.

"Yeah" he said "But you don't have to eat it". Only a small amount of the pile was meat still, so he hoped it wasn't a problem

"Okay. I saw some plants by the opening." Omega replied.

"Do you not like meat?" he asked

"Well, things died and...we're eating their carcass."

"Yeah, but that's like, the cycle of life of something" he replied.

"It's still gross."

"Then don't eat it"

Omega moved away.

He quickly forgot about his anger and moved on to the pile of food he had gathered
