Literally at the lab

"C'mon, Alph, were going all the way, you want to?" Dark asked.

"You bet!"

Scott sighed. He really didn't want to be responsible for this boy in the event that something happened to him.

"Nothing's going to happen to me." He said.

"When's the last time you've even eaten?" Scott asked him

"Last week."

Scott was surprised. This place looked like it had been abandoned for years.

"The rats gave me a bread crumb. It was a feast."

"If you say so." Scott said. "Anyways, we'd better get walking. Who knows how long this corridor continues on for."

Dark sniffed the air. "About 3 miles more."

Scott suddenly realized how little he knew about experiments. There was the low growling again.

Dark let out a loud meow. So did Alpha.

Scott looked behind them for the source of the noise. There was nothing there.

Dark meowed again.

"Why are you doing that?" Scott asked

Dark muttered something and looked at the next cage.

Scott had no idea what she was thinking.

There was an animal there and it was making the growling noise.

Scott saw it. It was massive and seemed to be some sort of cross between a wolf and a man. It was scarred horribly and one of it's eyes was shut. It certainly didn't seem happy to see them.

Dark edged behind her brother.

The creature growled at them, but did nothing more. Scott figured it could break through the rusty iron bars if it tried.

"Hi, big, wolf, thing," Dark said, nervously.

It snarled. "We should probably just keep walking." Scott suggested

"Yeah." They walked. At the end was a ladder.

It seemed to lead back up, though Scott doubted it led back to the main facility.

Dark climbed.
