The War

There was a city coming up.

The boy stared at it with wide eyes.

"That," HArvest pointed." Is the Colonies."

Awesome! The boy thought.

"It's really pretty, don't you think?"

The boy nodded. He wondered if Harvest thought of him as weird because he couldn't talk.

"I'm sure you'll fit right in."

He couldn't tell if that was sarcasm or not.

"Really. Lot's of lab escapees there."

Oh. He seemed glad that atleast people here wouldn't look down on him for being different.

"And lots of them can't talk because of experiments."

The boy seemed curious about this. He wondered what kind of experiments would make it so people couldn't talk, besides the obvious of course.

"You know." HArvest said.

The boy looked at her.

"Oh, Dark and Daniel had a kid, so there was a big party."

Party? The boy wasn't sure what that was.

"Like, a celebration." Harvest docked the boat and helped him out.

The boy seemed to understand. When the boat stopped he climbed out with some help from Harvest.

"This is Granite Square, there is a park in the middle and the Market surrounds it.

The boy took a look around. He figured that the park sounded interesting.

"In the center is a tall obelisk make out of a black gem."

The boy's eyes lit up. He wanted to go see that.

"Come on," Harvest led him onto the street.

He followed her closely, trying not to get lost.

"There it is." Harvest looked at it.
