The War

Dark narrowed her eyes and momentarily forgot that she was chained to Daniel when she attemped to kick up the wall into a ledge in the roof as she had done so many times. The extra weight forced her down.

Daniel wasn't sure what had just happened. He was also unsure of why these kids were in prison uniforms.

"And who are you?" Dark asked calmly. "And why are you here?"

"You don't recognize us?" One of the boys asked. Daniel noticed that he had really dark black hair. The silent boy had light green hair. Both of them looked familiar.

"Listen I don't have the time, nor the patience for this. I've seen and killed more boys that look exactly like you in the war." Dark narrowed her eyes. Dark also noticed Arianna unchaining them silently. "I don't remember people who I never met."

"But what about old friends?" The dark haired boy asked. He was referring to the other boy, who didn't seem to react to much of anything.

"Old friend eh? All my friends are dead or in their twenties. None teens." Dark sighed. "If you need a place, there are hotels in the city." Dark pointed to the passage.

"Okay then." The boy said. He wondered how bad her memory was. "Regardless, I'm here to see Daniel."

Dark looked at Daniel. "Why?" Dark sighed. "Not alone, though." Dark didn't know any teenagers anymore. And they certainly didn't sound like people she knew.

"This is important." The dark haired boy said. "There isn't any easy way to explain this, but you need to give Daniel Soul's Bane."

Dark's eyes slightly widened. "You're not my friend, Florence." dark trained her icy eyes on him. "You're just another person who claims to be my friend."

Daniel didn't see how that could be Florence. Florence had a white streak in his hair.

"What about Scott? Is he not your friend either?"

"Scott's dead." Dark sighed.

"No he isn't." The dark haired boy insisted. "He's right here." He pointed at the green haired boy next to him.

Dark rolled her eyes. She then trained the icy blue irises on 'Florence'. "I don't care about undead who break their promises." Dark turned around, hoping that her voice didn't give away what she felt underneath. 'I have played this Dark for so long. The young, scared girl can't come out.'

The dark haired boy sighed. He looked to Daniel.

Daniel had nothing to say.

Dark kicked off the cave wall into the ledge in the roof. Calmly walking to the small tunnel, she felt as if she were on the front lines. "Stupid reaper. Playing with emotions is dangerous work." She muttered under her breath.

Daniel had no idea where Dark was going.

OOC: ah, emotional Dark.

IC: Dark was going someplace that he didn't know.

Daniel figured he might as well hear the dark haired boy out. He figured there wasn't any harm in it, especially because only Dark knew where Soul's Bane was.

Arianna sat down on the bed, wanting to know what they had to say.

The boy who was not Florence explained that Gustav had returned. He explained how Scott had come back to life, but that he was placed under a curse by Gustav and needed Daniel to break it by performing a ritual with the Reaper's blade.

"Why can't you do it yourself?" He asked.

"I uh, kinda lost my powers. I'm mortal now. That's all there is to it."

Daniel wasn't sure why it had to be him, but according to the dark haired boy it was because he was the only mortal could make the blade respond in the way it was needed to.

"But," Arianna piped up. "I don't want Daddy to die."

"He doesn't have to die." The boy said. "In fact, he probably won't."

Arianna didn't believe it. "Sure." She said sarcastically.
