The War

Damien wondered how something like that could happen without anyone knowing.

"The city was very secret, even back then. Only lab experiments." Dark explained as she docked.

"I guess it makes sense then."

Dark nodded as she got out. "Welcome to the city."

Damien and Joshua got out. It occurred to Damien that, despite being a Reaper, he looked like a human. He hoped that he wouldn't be ridiculed by the lab experiments.

"A lot of them look human." Dark told him. She began walking. "The light is brought down by mirrors in dead trees. It's also magnified to make it brighter. So it looks like day and night."

"That's cool." Damien said. He doubted he could pass as a half-breed, so he hoped that none of them really noticed him.

They didn't really notice. "This is the obelisk." Dark came up to the obelisk. "It is one of the few things that were in the old city. It is in the center and my mom, having learned magic from the Dragon Slayers, enchanted it to say the names of heroes. It cycles." Dark put her hand on the dark stone.

OOC: Because Dragonslayer magic can do anything.

IC: Damien looked at the names on the obelisk.

Joshua seemed distracted by something else.

OOC: F*CK YEAH.

IC: Dark looked at him. "Something wrong?"

"Your mother must have been very powerful in order to use Dragonslayer magic like that." Joshua said. He noticed a strange aura around the obelisk.

Damien, who couldn't see auras, was fascinated with the stone and it's magic power.

OOC: In truth, magic (the light blue energy) isn't all that powerful, however it can be used for many things. The grey energy that Reapers use and Light & Darkness energy are superior, but have far less uses. In order to have something truly powerful, you would need a combination of energy.

OOC: Well, the obleisk and other magical thing there aren't very powerful.

IC: Dark shrugged. "I guess."

OOC: Yeah, I'm just saying. The Dragonslayer magic is rather inferior and could be broken by any other kind of energy.

IC: Joshua was curious about the aura, but figured it didn't really matter.

OOC: Well, no one really messes with the obelisk.

IC: "Come on, the Wishing Pond is next. It's in the same park we're in."

OOC: I suppose. There probably isn't any reason to mess with it.

IC: Joshua and Damien followed Dark to the Wishing Pond.

It was a pretty pond with coins in it. "People wish and throw in coins. For fun, I guess." Dark explained.

"Do the wishes come true?" Joshua asked.

"I don't know." Dark really didn't know. "But every year, we have a coin tossing contest for the kids, see who can skip a coin the farthest. They find it fun."

Joshua looked at Damien. Damien nodded. Both made a silent wish and tossed in a gold coin.

Dark thought nothing of it.

Damien wasn't sure the wishes would come true, but for some reason it seemed important to Joshua.

Dark moved on. "The city is surrounded by water. To get to places other than the city, you need a boat."

"What sort of places?"

"Grottos, other caves, the ocean."

"You can get to the ocean from here?" Damien asked.
