The War

"I'd rather you didn't." The boy protested.

Dark did anyway.

There were random objects and one of those toy guns that you fill with water and then spray people with.

Dark checked everything for bombs and poison. "What is it."

"It's a toy." the kid told her.

"Toy?" Dark had grown up with needles and cages. She knew not of this 'toy'.

"Please can I just give it to mister Daniel?"

"What's a toy?"

"It's something that children play with for entertainment." Scott told her.

"What's play? And entertainment? Unlike you, I was stuck in a cage for most of my childhood."

"That would explain alot." Scott said. "Can you just let this kid give his stupid present to Daniel and be on his way?"

"No."

"And why not?"

"It might be bombed. Plus, I don't know this kid. Plus plus, why would Daniel need toys."

Scott felt like Dark was overly paranoid. Although, something about this kid did seem alittle bit off.

"What's you name, where do you come from, and why did you enter this way?"

Judging by his clothes, Scott figured that the boy had come from the slums of the city.

"My name is S... Steven." He said nervously.

"Steven who. And answer my other questions."

Scott was getting irritated by Dark's paranoia.

"I'm from the slums." he said, completely skipping Dark's question about his last name.

DArk looked at Scott as Ariana started to cry. "Stay." She went to calm her down.

Scott glanced over at the kid. "Sorry about this. She's just a little too careful is all."

"It's quite alright."

Dark came back bouncing Ariana. Protectively. "Come in. Daniel says he's been expecting you."

The boy seemed surprised to hear that Daniel was expecting him. He enter cautiously, as if he expected Dark to attack him at any moment. Scott stayed outside to smoke.

"SCOTT! PUT THOSE CIGARETS AWAY BEFORE I SET FIRE TO YOUR HEAD!" Dark scream to Scott.

Scott put them away and just stared out at the snow. He was contemplating why the boy seemed so familiar when suddenly it hit him.

The boy dumped the contents of the box onto the bed where Daniel lay, still half asleep. Along with the junk he had shown to Dark a sheet of cardboard fell out, followed by something heavy. The boy tossed aside the box and picked up the object. Daniel suddenly felt cold steel press against his forehead.

"Master sends his regards." The boy said in a voice that was much different than before.

Those were the last words that Daniel heard. A gunshot rang out, echoing across the snow filled fields.
