The War

Dark picked up Florence.

Florence took care not to accidentally kill her.

Daniel picked up the small child.

"You aren't going to make seven miles in that state." Dark told Florence.

Florence wasn't sure what she was talking about.

"The place is a seven mile trek. Up there." She began to climb the tree. "It's easier."

Florence had never climbed a tree before. In practically every instance he could simply warp up to the highest branch, but not now. He began to climb up after Dark.

Dark climbed to the very top where it was very windy. She began to hop from branch to branch, spending most of her time in the air.

Florence got to the top. He looked around and saw Dark was hopping from branches. Daniel made it up soon after, still carrying the child, and followed Dark.

Dark loved it up here.

Daniel had a mixed opinion. Florence tried his best to keep up with them, but he was still weak.

"Florence. Don't stand on that branch."

"Why not?" He asked.

There was a crack.

Florence cursed and quickly moved to a more sturdy branch.

"Dark looked at him. "Keep moving."

He nodded and continued to move from branch to branch, not entirely sure where Dark was leading him.

"To where I live." Dark dropped down.

Florence and Daniel also dropped down. Florence took a look around.

There was the cave. Dark led him to the river.

He followed.

She led him into the city. "Try not to kill anyone."

"I'll try." Florence said. He couldn't make any promises, but with his powers drained he couldn't do most of the things he normally could.

"You can stay in our place." Arianna was waiting there.

Florence saw Arianna. Something about her seemed to disturb him a little.

"Don't touch him." Dark warned her. "He kills people when they touch him."
