The War

Florence looked at the blade in his hands. He wasn't sure if he should use it, but he did know that he could kill the wolf simply by pricking him with the tip of the knife.

Dark knew this, and thus leapt for the knife.

Florence was startled and quickly lashed out with the blade.

Dark dodged and grabbed the handle.

Florence elbowed her to knock her back. There was no way he was going to let her get her hands on one of the few weapons that could kill him.

Dark hung on. She dug her claws into his arm.

Florence tried to push the blade into her flesh.

Dark made sure to dodge every strike. She managed to pry it from him.

"What is your problem?"

"I don't trust you. Therefore, I won't let you have weapons.

"You don't understand what that is, do you?"

"Deadly." Dark snarled.

"It's a sacred Reaper weapon called 'Soul's Bane'. It can severe the bond between a physical body and a soul, killing anything with a single touch. A weapon like that poisons the mind of mortals."

"Which is exactly why I took it."

"You realize that every second you hold that weapon it will push you further to the edge until it eventually drives you insane, right?"

"I am already insane."

"I don't doubt that, but I mean you could suddenly just kill Daniel and Arianna without any cause. The blade is poison."

"I've dealt with many poisons."

"You don't get it, do you?"

"Shut up."

"It's already begun." Florence told her. "That weapon is going to transform you into a monster."

"I am one."

"The kind of monster who would kill her own family with no cause?" Florence asked. No doubt she had already seen it with Illyena and Malark.

"Like you." Dark put in in with her throwing knives.

"You have no idea what you're talking about."
