The War

Gustav cussed really loud. He dropped Soul's Bane and Daniel looked at it with a strange look in his eyes.

DArk pulled Daniel away from the edge. She then disarmed Gustav.

Daniel grabbed Soul's Bane and scurried away from the portal. Gustav was recovering from Dark's mental attack, and so getting his sword away from him wasn't too difficult.

DArk then rendered him unable to harm them.

Gustav wasn't sure how such a thing was possible.

Daniel took Soul's Bane in his left hand and ran the blade down the palm of his right. He began to recite words that seemed to be Latin, or some other really old language that no one understood.

Dark felt rather useless.

Edmund watched Daniel for a moment, not entirely sure what was going on. There was no way that Daniel would have known the words for an ancient ritual off the top of his head.

Dark felt suspicious, as war taught her to trust no one when something strange was happening.

Scott listened to the words Daniel was chanting. He was taught about ancient cultures growing up. Education was interesting when your only teacher was a maniac scientist. Still, he recognized a few of the words. 'Demon', 'Power', 'Torment', etc. It certainly didn't sound like he was trying to seal a gate.

Dark stole a glance at Scott. Dark knew something about people, especially people who she grew up with. A slight shake of the head informed him of her question. 'It's not a sealing-thing, is it.'

Scott shook his head. He was almost certain that the ritual Daniel was performing was something completely different.

Gustav began to laugh loudly.

"Looks like there's a traitor in the midst." Dark said rather calmly.

Edmund tried to look into Daniel's mind, but found he was unable. Florence must be close to waking up.

"A traitor?" Scott asked.

"Yes. A rather big traitor doing a rather big part in a rather big scheme."

Scott wasn't sure what Dark meant.

Dark didn't care. "Right Daniel?" Dark sounded very cheerful.

Daniel stopped what he was doing. Blood began to pour from the cut in his hand. He opened his eyes to reveal that they were now orange, even the parts that were once white, with narrow black slits at the center.

"Thought so." Dark meowed happily. Dark could be very scary when she was angry. This was one of those moments. "So, shall we start?"

Scott looked at Daniel. He wasn't entirely sure what had happened.

Daniel vanished for a moment, reappearing beside Gustav. Gustav seemed to have lost his mind entirely. Daniel placed a hand on his head, and then in an instant smashed his skull. Gustav didn't have the time or the sheer will to prevent this. Pieces flew everywhere.

Dark seemed unaffected. "Wonderful. Gustav, I must thank you for something, thanks for dying my heart so jet black. It will make killing you so much easier." Dark had a cheery smile, as if she was complimenting his brownies. "Of course, without you, this would never happen and we would all be living happy lives in our respected kingdoms."

OOC: Wat. Gustav's dead.

OOC: All righty then. I thought Daniel smashed Daniel's skull and Daniel was dead. Please disregard that last post then.

IC: Dark gave a sweet smile. "Now be a dear and seal up the portal, will you?" Dark was addressing the thing possessing Daniel/Daniel/whatever.

Daniel looked up at Dark. He then disappeared.

Dark sighed.

Daniel appeared in front of Scott and kicked him in the stomach. There was a loud crack and Scott was knocked backwards. He landed on his back, unconscious but alive.

Edmund wondered who would be next. That thing can't tell friend from foe. It's just going to kill us all. He knew that for certain.
