The War

Dark didn't care if she was offended. Dark was pretty sure that they were here to kill her.

Florence looked over at Dark and saw Daniel. He then looked over at the woman and froze.

Dark sensed his movement and also froze.

The woman looked over at Florence. "Oh, hi Florence!"

Florence nervously averted his gaze.

Dark gave a deep sigh. "Are you going to kill me or not? Make it quick."

"Kill you? Whatever do you mean by that?"

"Usually, when someone appears and acts like that they want to kill you. Can you hurry up? I have a busy schedual."

The woman laughed a little.

Florence figured Dark had no idea who she was talking to.

Dark didn't. 'Who?' Dark used basic signs to talk to him, not sure if he understood or not.

Florence understood, but he didn't know how to sign back the answer. "She is Gaia, the goddess of Life and creator of all things..."

Dark paled. "Well, she most hate me, not only should I not exist in the natural world, but I was involved in many deaths." Dark gave a hearty laugh.

"Don't be silly" Gaia replied. "Those things are not your fault."

Florence sighed. "She isn't really the type to hate people anyways."

Dark sniffed disdainfully. "I know."

Florence looked over at Daniel. "Wait. Why hasn't he been revived?"

"There is something wrong with that one." Gaia replied. "His body seems to possess an overwhelming amount of chaos energy. There is nothing I can do."

"According the legends you can do anything." Dark had been borrowing texts from the DragonSlayers. "You know, the Greek and Roman ones?"

"That is true." Gaia said. "My powers are far superior to that of any mortal, however, there is another being out there who is even stronger than I."

"Ragnarok?" Florence asked. "I thought that was just a myth..."

"Now what's that?" Dark said calmly.

"Ragnarok is the god of destruction. His power takes the form of orange Chaos energy. There was a time when he used to have the ability to walk this earth freely, but he soon became too powerful. With my help, the Twelve and the Reaper High Council sealed him away in a dimension where it was believed that he could never cause trouble again."

"So, the thing I just killed?"

"No. That was one of his minions." Gaia replied. "They are the embodiment of Chaos energy, but they don't come close to the power that Ragnarok has."

"This should be fun." Dark said, leaning against a wall. "What about Gustav? He won't come back?"

"He already has." Florence said. "I saw him run off while you guys were talking."

"He is a threat to my remaining family. I deal with him first." Dark turned.

"Calm yourself young one. The reason he has been brought back is because it was not yet his time."

Dark made angry noises. "Well now it is. I don't want him after my kid." Dark faced her. "I don't give a damn if you're goddess or Gaia. I have loyalties."
